Way of Protecting Its Food – Found to Be Man’s Way Of Aiding
Weight Loss!
It has been known for over
50 years that certain foods in their natural state, like raw wheat, contain
small amounts of a certain protein that binds to the receptor site of
alpha-amylase, the enzyme in our bodies that digests starch carbohydrates.
This protein prevents the alpha-amylase enzyme from breaking down or digesting
the starch for a short period, subsequently neutralizing the starch. The
starch is then simply passed through the digestive system in whole-molecule
form, without releasing its calories. The starch calories remain undigested,
the same way fiber does, and are eliminated. Enzyme-neutralizing proteins
are protective in nature as they help protect food sources from insects
and rodents. Since this same process happens when these species eat foods
that contain them, like raw wheat, the insects or rodents don’t
get enough calories to live off it, so they tend to avoid these types
of foods. Thus, enzyme neutralizers are a simple defense mechanism that
nature has provided for certain plants to survive. Although this process
has always occurred in nature, only recently has man discovered it as
a means to aid weight loss.

Improved
Starch Neutralizers Finally Available To The Public
After careful research, scientists
isolated a protein concentrate from the white kidney bean, called Phaseolus
vulgaris,which is the alpha-amylase neutralizing enzyme responsible for
preventing starch carbohydrates from breaking down. It has been shown
to be safe, and when initially studied, some weight loss results occurred.
Between 1980 and 2003, research by some of the top medical organizations
and universities resulted in over 42 studies on starch neutralizers and
their effects. The Mayo Clinic even completed 13 peerreviewed studies,
which were published in scientific journals, including The New England
Journal of Medicine. Recently, a team of American scientists and researchers
were able to produce a more potent, concentrated, pure and stable form
of the nutrient from white kidney beans known as the Phase 2 Starch Neutralizer
(or Phase 2). Of equal importance, they authorized clinical studies and
testing for it as a weight loss aid.
Preliminary
Clinical Studies Show Promising Results
In a preliminary clinical
study, the Phase 2 ingredient has shown impressive results in helping
to reduce weight and body composition.
Study: Weight Loss
and Body Composition. One of several studies with promising results
of the Phase 2 ingredient includes a recent study from Milano, Italy.
In this double-blind study, 60 normal, healthy human volunteers—males
and females, ages 20 to 45 years—were enrolled. All patients were
between eleven to thirty-three pounds overweight and utilized 500 mg of
Phase 2 for one meal a day. Volunteers were divided into two equivalent
groups (by sex, age and weight) and were then asked to take a single starch-neutralizing
tablet or placebo before a meal rich in complex carbohydrates. The volunteers
maintained their regular and normal everyday habits (such as sports or
any other habits that could affect the study). At
the end of the thirty-day study, it was shown that participants given
the actual Phase 2 ingredient experienced a weight loss of 6.5 pounds.
Such weight loss led to a 10.45 percent reduction of fat body mass, without
significant modifications of lean body mass. Results also included 3.44
percent reduction of waistline; 1.39 percent reduction of hip circumference;
and 1.44 percent reduction of thigh circumference. In comparison, the
placebo group lost only 0.47 percent (less than 1 pound for a 200 pound
person) of total body weight, and without any significant changes in fat,
or lean body mass, or any reduction in the other areas of measurement.
Enhancing
the Phase 2 Formula
